Official Release from DO/MCSO
This morning, a student reported that another student at Cerbat Elementary School brought a vape pen to school today. Upon administration searching the student's backpack, it was found that the student also had more contraband, including a weapon. At no time was the weapon displayed or used to threaten others.
Kingman Unified School District and Mohave County Sheriff's Office were notified immediately. MSCO arrived at the school and quickly had the situation under control.
Please take a moment to talk with your child about the seriousness of bringing weapons to school and the importance of reporting any safety concerns to a trusted adult or school staff member. By working together, we can maintain a safe learning environment for everyone.
Our district is committed to the safety and education of all our students and strives to maintain transparent communication with parents about safety issues when they arise. Student and staff safety is our top priority.
