Next Week!

Dear KUSD Families,
We are preparing our academic calendars for the 2026–2027 through 2028–2029 school years and would like additional feedback from parents and community members before taking action.
The proposed calendar maintains our four-day student week and includes a later start to the school year. To support that later start, fall and spring breaks would shift from two weeks to one week, while winter break would remain two weeks. Parent/Teacher conferences would continue to be supported with minimum attendance days in the fall and spring.
We welcome your feedback regarding the proposed calendar with a later start and shorter fall and spring intersessions. Please take a moment to complete the brief feedback form linked below.
We appreciate your time and partnership as we work to balance student learning, staff sustainability, and family needs across our district.

From our reindeer to yours, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year! Great job Rams on the first half of the year we will see you back on January 5th!

We are thrilled to announce that Cerbat Elementary's chess club had an outstanding performance at the Manzanita Dragon tournament! Our team of 15 top players worked together and brought home a 2nd place trophy in the primary division.
This achievement is particularly impressive considering our club's growth and progress over the years. Last year, we took home 3rd place, and it's amazing to see our students' skills improve year after year. We're proud to say that our chess club is on the rise, and we're already looking forward to next year's tournament.
We'd like to congratulate our individual medalists:
• Lane took 6th place
• Joseph, a talented 1st grader, took 5th place competing against 3rd graders
• John, a 3rd grader, took 4th place
A special shoutout to Joseph, whose exceptional skills and dedication earned him a top spot among his peers. While only in 1st grade, he competed against 3rd graders and was able to win us a 5th place medal. We're proud to have him represent Cerbat Elementary!
We're grateful for the opportunity to compete and learn from others. We're proud of our students' hard work and dedication to the game. Keep up the great work, Cerbat Elementary chess club!
Special thanks to our Sponsor. Due to their generous donations, our student were able to show up to this tournament wirh hoodies free of charge to our students.
